OWN FARMS
FOR FATTENING OF OUR STRAW-BEDDED PIGS

We have set ourselves the goal of implementing vertical integration in pig fattening.

Only in this form do we have the possibility to implement our ideals of respectful pig fattening.

Our farms are within 50 km of our slaughterhouse.

AT LEAST 40% MORE AREA THAN LEGALLY REQUIRED

With at least 40% more area than normal indoor livestock housing, the animals feel comfortable.  With straw bedding, they live much cleaner and can move freely in their habitat.

RESPECT FOR LIFE
Animal husbandry in confined spaces with maximum increases is the one approach to maximize yields.
Keeping livestock with plenty of room in straw bedding and access to free-range areas is our approach to maximize quality and yields.
Health and well-being forms the basis for quality. 
"The nature-oriented" approach requires space, but with significantly less technical applications. Animal welfare does not have to be expensive.

AT ANY TIME IN THE OUTDOORS
A shaded free-range area is available for romping.
The generous amount of space also leads to less aggression amongst the animals and as a result, stress and injuries are no longer an issue.

HOUSING CLIMATE WITH
MINIMAL CO2 AND AMMONIA IMPACT

THE CLIMATE MAKES A DIFFERENCE
"Out in the fresh air" is the motto also for humans when you want to do something good for your body. This is even more important for animals because they are exposed to high levels of CO2 and ammonia during normal indoor housing. 
Feces and urine collect in manure shafts and pollute the air in a way that is considered toxic for humans.

Gierlinger's Quality by Respect also allows considerations to animals all that living creatures are entitled to.

SLAUGHTER AND BUTCHERING
IN OWN SLAUGHTERHOUSE

European standards through state-of-the-art slaughtering.

Careful slaughter is just as important as traceability to the individual animal.

Specified and sorted by lean meat content, the slaughtered animals are dissembled by our in-house butchery.

Shorter distances and perfect cooling are two important elements for long durability.

HAM AND SAUSAGE SPECIALTIES PRODUCED FROM FRESH MEAT, ACCORDING TO TRADITIONAL RECIPES

Quality begins with the raw material.
As a result, Gierlinger's specialties are produced exclusively from fresh meat.
Ham and sausage specialties are produced according to traditional Austrian recipes.

All these factors give us the possibility of long-term price stability.
